Introducing our exquisite 1940s Shakudo damascene brooch, a beautiful piece of Japanese artistry. Crafted with a unique attention to detail, this round brooch with fluted edges showcases a beautiful image of bamboo in delicate shades of 24 karat gold and fine silver on a black oxidised iron base.

 

Meticulously hand-crafted using the Japanese Shakudo technique - a technique used historically on the hilts of Samurai swords - flat steel plates are incised with ornate designs, inlayed with precious 24 carat gold and fine silver wire, and burnished at high heat to achieve a captivating black oxidised finish. The silver and gold inlays are further embellished with detailed engravings, creating the beautiful piece we see today.
