Our Tenjin Obi Handbag is a one-of-a-kind piece handcrafted from a vintage Japanese obi (帯) – a 100% pure silk sash traditionally worn with kimono.
Cream silk stretches like a tranquil sky, brushed with swirling gold clouds that drift softly across the scene. Amidst this ethereal haze, elegant figures in flowing jūnihitoe court robes reign with serene grace, inspiring this handbag’s name, Tenjin (天人), meaning “heaven and man”. The scene evokes a sacred moment suspended between earth and heaven, where tradition, beauty, and divine presence gather beneath shimmering skies.
A decorative tassel sways with movement, while two inner patterned pockets provide, in equal measure, beauty and functionality. The magnetic gold button seals this one of a kind bag, now ready for a new adventure.
